Honoring Women Banquet
The Outreach Committee is proud to hold our 2nd Annual Honoring Women Banquet, which will be held on Thursday, May 22nd. Again, the doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for browsing tables of local business’ wares, including those of our own members. Dinner will start to be served at 6:30 p.m. Our menu this year includes roast pork loin, yams, asparagus spears, and spinach salad. The dessert has yet to be determined. Ticket prices will be $8 per person. Our guest lady presenters will be Amy York of York’s Mercantile and the owner of The Craftsman’s Daughter, Ellie Patrick. Now, ladies of the church, remember that we will need some husbands to help in the kitchen and to serve the food to our ladies. If they worked last year, I promise them that this year it will be more organized and much easier to help. This is not a mother and daughter event, but a chance to invite women in your area—friends, neighbors, co-workers, and family members to an evening of good food, fun presentations, and camaraderie. Tickets will be available in the office and between services beginning May 6th and ending on May 20th. Please come join us. Let’s see if we can beat our numbers of 45 attendees from last year’s banquet!
God’s peace be with you,
Mimi Klinger, on behalf of the Outreach Committee
Graduation Sunday will be June 3rd. High school graduates are invited to attend the service of their choice where they will be presented with a gift from the church. There will be a PowerPoint presentation honoring all current graduates at both services.
If you are aware of someone in our congregation who is receiving a degree beyond high school, please contact the church office so that they may be recognized on June 3rd.
